Our Commitment

Oakwood Dental is committed to making our website usable by everyone, including people with disabilities. We believe access to dental care information should not depend on how you browse the web.

Conformance Status

We work to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA — the benchmark referenced under the Americans with Disabilities Act, adopted by Colorado for public entities under HB21-1110, and required of federally funded health care providers under Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act.

This website is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. “Partially conformant” means most of the site meets the standard, but some content — particularly third-party tools embedded in our pages — does not yet fully conform. We are working on it.

What We Have Done

• Clearly visible keyboard focus indicators on every interactive element
• Text and interface color contrast meeting WCAG 2.1 AA minimums
• Descriptive alternative text for meaningful images
• Accessible names on icon-only buttons and links
• Titles on embedded frames, including our scheduler, videos, and map
• Proper page landmarks and a single primary heading per page
• Labeled, grouped contact and appointment forms, with errors announced to screen readers
• Support for reduced-motion preferences and browser text resizing
• Links that open in a new tab announced as such

Known Limitations

We are aware of the following and are working to resolve them:

• Third-party embeds. Our online scheduler, patient review feed, and financing application are provided by outside vendors. We do not control their code and cannot guarantee they meet WCAG 2.1 AA.
• Some legacy images may not yet carry descriptive alternative text.
• Text over photography in some page headers may have reduced contrast depending on the image behind it.
