Same-Day Dental Crowns in Castle Rock, CO

Same-Day Dental Crowns in Castle Rock, CO

Nobody wants to spend two weeks with a temporary crown or make multiple trips to the dentist for a single procedure. At Oakwood Dental in Castle Rock, CO, we use advanced CEREC same-day crown technology to design, mill, and place a permanent porcelain crown in a single appointment.

One visit. One crown. Done.

What Is a Dental Crown?

A dental crown is a tooth-shaped “cap” that covers a damaged, decayed, or weakened tooth to restore its shape, strength, size, and appearance. Crowns are used for:

  • Protecting a tooth weakened by decay or fracture
  • Restoring a broken or severely worn tooth
  • Covering a tooth after root canal therapy
  • Supporting a dental bridge
  • Covering a discolored or misshapen tooth
  • Completing a dental implant

How CEREC Same-Day Crowns Work

Step 1: Digital Scan

We use a digital intraoral scanner to take precise 3D images of your tooth. No goopy impressions required.

Step 2: Digital Design

Our CEREC software generates a precise crown design based on your tooth anatomy and bite. We can view and adjust the design on screen.

Step 3: In-Office Milling

The crown is milled from a solid block of high-quality dental ceramic right in our office. The process takes about 15–20 minutes.

Step 4: Placement

We check the fit, color, and bite of the crown, make any final adjustments, and permanently cement it in place. You leave with a fully restored tooth — the same day.

Benefits of Same-Day Crowns

  • No temporary crown to crack, fall off, or cause sensitivity
  • Digital precision means a more accurate fit than traditional lab crowns
  • High-strength ceramic is durable, natural-looking, and stain-resistant
  • Ideal for back teeth requiring strength and front teeth requiring aesthetics

Same-Day Crown FAQs

How long do CEREC crowns last?

With proper care, CEREC crowns can last 10–15 years or more — comparable to traditional lab-fabricated crowns. Good oral hygiene and regular cleanings extend crown lifespan.

Are same-day crowns as strong as traditional crowns?

Yes. CEREC crowns are made from monolithic ceramic blocks that are extremely strong and fracture-resistant. Studies show CEREC crowns perform equivalently to traditional porcelain-fused-to-metal crowns in durability.

Does getting a crown hurt?

The tooth preparation is done under local anesthesia, so you won’t feel pain during the procedure. Some sensitivity is normal for a few days after placement, but this resolves quickly.
