Castle Rock Dental Implants
A beautiful smile gives you an edge both professionally and socially because it can convey a number of things about you, including confidence, health, and friendliness.
If you don’t like the way your smile looks because of a missing tooth, you might be sending a different message than you would like. Additionally, a missing tooth puts your oral health at risk.
At Oakwood Dental, we offer dental implants as one way to replace missing teeth for our patients. Dental implants are the best and most practical way to replace missing teeth because of their many health and esthetic benefits.
Benefits of Dental Implants
Because single dental implants closely mimic your natural teeth in appearance and function, they offer a long-term solution to missing teeth.
Health benefits of dental implants include:
Valuable bone retention – Dental implants prevent bone loss that often accompanies tooth loss. By retaining bone, you can enjoy stability for your teeth as well as preserve your facial structure.
Stability for your teeth and bite – Your dental implant fills the gap in your smile and prevents your remaining teeth from shifting.
Better tooth health – Opting for dental implants improves the prognosis of your adjacent teeth because they are easier to keep clean than dental bridges and removable dentures.
Convenient care – Dental implants require the same care as your natural teeth. Brushing, flossing, dental exams, and professional cleanings will keep your dental implant healthy.
No dietary restrictions – You can eat a wide variety of foods with your dental implant. You don’t have to stick to mushy foods with this high-tech dentistry.
Stability for dentures and bridges – If you want more stability for your current dentistry, dental implants can anchor bridges and dentures in place.
Cosmetic benefits of dental implants:
Custom design – Dr. Brandt Jones designs your dental implant to blend in perfectly with your smile. No one will notice you have a dental implant.
No more gaps – Filling the gap in your smile can boost your confidence and allow you to feel great about the way you look.
Longevity – With the proper care, dental implants can last for many years, making them a great investment.
How Dental Implant Treatment Works
In most cases, dental implants require several steps to complete. We can complete all your treatment right here, including your dental extraction, any necessary bone grafting, the dental implant placement, and your final dental implant crown restoration.
First, one of our gentle and skilled dentists will determine the best location with sufficient bone to place your dental implant. If your bone density is insufficient, we may recommend bone grafting, which builds up the bone structure and can make dental implants possible for you. Bone grafting uses donor bone that integrates with your natural bone, increasing the bone density and volume to provide a stable foundation for your dental implant.
We use 3-D imaging to plan every step, which allows us to identify the precise location for dental implant success. This procedure is typically very well tolerated by our patients, and they report little to no discomfort following dental implant placement.
It usually takes several months for your dental implant to fully integrate with your bone and stabilize. We know that waiting is often the hardest part, but it will be worth it! If you want a solution for your smile during this process, we can provide options.
Once your bone and dental implant fully integrate, we will create your dental crown. It will look completely natural, function like your natural teeth, and be undetectable when you smile.

Dental Implants in Castle Rock
If you are healthy enough, Dr. Brandt Jones will usually recommend dental implants because they provide the best long-term solution to tooth loss. Dental implants provide convenience because they are most like your natural teeth. You do not need to worry about them coming loose while you speak or eat.
We can even use dental implants to hold your dentistry in place. Implants can provide stability for dental bridges, partial dentures, and full dentures, allowing you to combine multiple treatments to restore your smile.

We complete dental implants from start to finish right here in our Castle Rock dental office. Even if you need an additional procedure, such as bone grafting or a sinus lift, Dr. Brandt Jones can do it all and provide great results. We use 3-D cone beam technology to determine the proper placement of your dental implant, which ensures your implant can withstand the force from chewing.
Patient comfort is important to us, and we will explain your treatment every step of the way.
Dental implants have several advantages compared to other tooth replacement options. One of the best reasons to consider dental implants over other possible treatments is that dental implant have an extremely high success rate.
Benefits of Dental Implants
Dental implants are extremely resilient. Unlike a bridge that is connected to natural teeth, dental implants are not susceptible to tooth decay, and unlike a bridge on natural teeth, dental implants are very resilient to gum disease. In addition, dental implants don't weaken and become more brittle and susceptible to fracture over time. This is often the case with natural teeth connected to a bridge.
Implant-Supported Dentures in 80104
Sometimes dental implants are used to secure a denture, this type of denture is called an implant overdenture. An implant overdenture is connected to dental implants and allows Dr. Brandt Jones to set the retention ideally for the patient. If the implant overdenture fits around existing healthy teeth, there is no need for unesthetic metal clasps that hook onto the teeth because the retention is on the dental implant. Not only can the metal clasps be unsightly, but they can become food traps where food particles collect and can be a potential problem for the health of the teeth and gums.
A bridge has been the traditional way to replace teeth. A bridge is designed with a replacement tooth that connects to crowns on the adjacent teeth. The new replacement tooth "bridges" the gap where the previous missing tooth existed. Having a bridge can introduce potential problems if it is not cleaned properly and the anchor teeth can become more susceptible to decay and gum disease. A dental implant is the closest way to replicate the previously missing tooth. Instead of connecting to the adjacent teeth, an implant replicates the previous tooth with a titanium post that is placed in the jawbone and a porcelain crown is designed to fit on the implant post. Normal home care for a dental implant is the same as it is for the rest of the natural teeth and no additional cleaning steps are required. Since a dental implant itself is not susceptible to decay or traditional gum disease, the future prognosis of adjacent teeth remains unchanged.
